GENERAL FAq
HOW LONG SHOULD MY HAIR BE AT THE TIME OF MY SERVICE?
Hair that’s shorter than about 1/4” won’t get picked up by the sugar, so it must be at least that long or we won’t be able to perform the service. Typically this is minimum 2 weeks after shaving, and 4-6 weeks after sugaring or waxing.
CAN I GET SUGARED WHILE ON MY PERIOD?
Yep! People do it all the time. Just have a tampon in please. Also the service will probably be more painful at this time.
DO YOU DO BRAZILIANS FOR TRANS WOMEN? TRANS GUYS? NON-BINARY FOLKS? HOW ABOUT CIS PEOPLE?
Yes, we do them for everyone, regardless of gender or genitalia.
IT'S MY FIRST TIME. WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?
It’s a common mistake for first-timers to over-trim their pubic hair, accidentally making it too short to sugar. If your hair is long, don’t worry about it! If its length will interfere with the service I give it a quick trim to a safe length before I start sugaring. Hair that’s too long is not a problem, but hair that’s too short means we’ll have to reschedule.
Showering before a service is also a good idea, and you should gently exfoliate as well. Just don’t apply any lotion afterwards on the body part that’s going to be sugared, as doing so will prevent the sugar from adhering properly to your hair.
YOUR SITE SAYS I NEED A VALID ID TO GET SUGARED, BUT MY ID HAS MY DEADNAME ON IT. WHY DO I NEED MY ID?
Unfortunately, I need valid ID in order to legally perform a service on anyone. This is a necessary protection for myself as a practitioner. The good news is that while yes, I will have to see your ID, I will always respect your chosen name and gender. Duh!
DOES SUGARING HURT?
For the majority of people, yes. It’s about on par with waxing, maybe a little less painful depending who you ask. But everyone is so different. Some people don’t even flinch, while other people sweat and shout. All reactions are normal and ok! I will get you through the pain as quickly as possible.
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
can i take a bath or go swimming or get in a hot tub after sugaring?
Please don’t! It’s best to wait at least 24hrs after your service to immerse yourself in water, but preferably 72hrs. After sugaring, your hair follicles are open, and more susceptible to bacteria.
Can i wear tight-fitting clothes after a service?
It’s best to come in wearing something breathable, like a dress, baggy pants, etc.
Should i apply lotion after my service?
No, you should not. Don’t put anything on your skin at all, lotions, pastes, sprays, anything. Your follicles are open and you do not want to clog them up, which would greatly increase the likelihood of ingrown hairs.
When the service is over, I will give you a hot, sterile towel from the UV towel warmer, and you can press it onto sticky areas to melt any bits of sugar that may have been left behind. Not only is this great for clean-up compared to waxing, it’s also a lot of peoples’ favorite part of the service. After you use the hot towel, just leave the skin alone for 1-3 days if you can. That’s it!
Can I go to the gym after my service? How about sex?
Sweating heavily within the first 24hrs following a service is not recommended, if you can avoid it. Do your best to keep your follicles clean and dry until they close up again. Try to avoid sweat and friction.
What should I do after a service?
Relax! Put some sweatpants on, or booty shorts, or just lay around in your underwear if you don’t have to go anywhere. Your skin wants to be cool and dry and friction-free.
aCCESSIBILITY
is t4t fantasy sugar wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately we are not wheelchair accessible at this time. We are on the second story of a building that has a tight staircase. We know this is not ideal, and hope to have an additional more accessible location in the future.
